The rule

English -ous becomes Portuguese -oso: famous → famoso. It's an adjective, so its ending changes to match the noun it describes — -oso, -osa, -osos, -osas. Stress the o before the s (fa-MO-so), and let that single s buzz like a z, as in decisão.
